4) Cookies

In many aspects cookies help to make your visit to our website easier, more pleasant and more useful. Cookies are alphanumerical information files that your web browser automatically stores on your computer’s hard disk whenever you visit our website on the internet.

Cookies do not damage your computer’s hard disk, and personal data are not communicated to us by placing cookies, either.

We utilise cookies, for example, so that we can identify you as the user without you having to log in separately. This usage does not lead to us obtaining new personal data about you as an online visitor. Most internet browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or in a way that a warning always appears when you receive a new cookie.

Deactivating cookies may lead to you being unable to make use of the full scope of functions on our website.

5) Web analytics services

We make use of web analytics services for the purpose of designing our web pages to suit demand and for the ongoing optimisation of them. Pseudonymised usage profiles are created and cookies are utilised (see point 4)) in conjunction with this. The information generated by the cookie regarding your usage of this website, such as

– browser type / version;

– operating system being used;

– referrer URL (the previously visited website);

– host name of the accessing computer (IP address);

– time of the server query

– approximate location of the accessing computer,

is communicated to the server and stored there.

This information is used to analyse website usage, to compile reports on website activitites, and to render other services associated with website and internet use for the purposes of market research along with the designing of these website pages on the internet as needed to suit demand. This information may potentially also be communicated to third parties insofar as this is compulsory by law, or to the extent that third parties are commissioned to process these data.

Under no circumstances shall the IP address be associated with other data referring to the user. The IP addresses are anonymised so that a mapping thereof is not possible (IP masking).

The user can prevent the installation of cookies via an appropriate setting in the browser software (see point 4)); however, we explicitly point out that in this case the functions on this website might not be able to be utilised to their fullest extent.

Above and beyond this, the user can prevent the capturing of data (including his/her IP address) generated by the cookie and data referring to his/her usage of the website, as well as the processing of this data, by downloading a browser add-on and installing it.

6) Google AdWords

We equally make use of the “Google AdWords” service. This means that a cookie is placed whenever the user reaches our website via an advertisement on Google. The cookie is automatically deleted after 30 days and does not serve towards personal identification. If the user visits our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we can detect that the user has clicked on the advertisement and was routed to our website. A tracking of the user via his/her activities on other websites is not possible by means of this cookie because each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The information captured with the help of the cookie serves us for purposes of statistical analysis in order to find out the number of users who clicked on a Google advertisement and were routed to our website. However, we do not receive any information whatsoever which possibly enables personal identification of the user.

The user can prevent the installation of the cookie via an appropriate setting on his/her browser.

7) Social plugins

a) Facebook

Social plugins from Facebook are used on the pages of our internet website to make the online shop more personal. We use the “Like” or “Share” buttons to accomplish this. This situation deals with an offer from the enterprise Facebook Inc. (1601 Willow Rd., Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA) based in the USA.

Whenever you call up a page in our web presentation that contains this kind of plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers at Facebook. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the page on the website by the browser.

In turn, by integrating the plugin Facebook receives the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page in our web presentation, even if you do not possess a Facebook account at all or are momentarily not logged in at Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server at Facebook in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged in at Facebook, then Facebook is able to directly assign the visit to our website to your Facebook account. Whenever you interact with the plugins, for instance by activating the “Like” or “Share” button, the corresponding information is equally transmitted directly to a server at Facebook and stored there. In addition, the information is posted on Facebook and shown to your Facebook Friends.

Facebook is able to make use of this information for the purpose of advertising, for market research and for designing Facebook pages as needed to suit demand. Facebook does this by creating usage, interest and relationship profiles, for example to analyse your use of our website with respect to the advertisements shown on your account at Facebook, to notify other Facebook users regarding your activities on our website, and to render other services associated with using Facebook.

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data accumulated via our web presentation to your Facebook account, then you must log out at Facebook before you visit our website. Please refer to the Privacy Policy at Facebook concerning the purpose and scope of data collection, the further processing and usage of data by Facebook, as well as your rights pertaining to the above and the options for settings to safeguard your personal privacy.

b) Google Plus

The pages on our internet website use the “+1” button from the Google Plus social network operated by Google. The button can be identified via the “+1” symbol against a white or coloured background.

Whenever you call up a page in our web presentation that contains this kind of button, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers at Google. The content of the “+1” button is transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated into the page on the website by the browser. We therefore have no influence on the scope of the data that Google collects using the button. According to Google, no personal data are collected without having clicked on the button itself. Such data, inter alia the IP address, are collected and processed only in the case of members who are logged in.

Please refer to the Google Privacy Policy concerning the purpose and scope of data collection, the further processing and usage of data by Google, as well as your rights pertaining to the above and the options for settings to safeguard your personal privacy.

If you are a member of Google Plus and do not want Google to collect data about you via our website presentation and link such data to your membership data stored at Google, then you must log out at Google Plus before you visit our website.

c) Twitter

Plugins from the short message (i.e. text messaging) service Twitter are integrated into the pages of our internet website. These plugins are offered by the firm Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St., Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. You can identify the plugins via the Twitter logo or the so-called “Tweet” button (https://about.twitter.com/de/resources/buttons). Whenever you call up a page in our web presentation that contains this kind of plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the server at Twitter. Twitter consequently receives the information that you have visited our website page together with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter “Tweet” button while logged in to your Twitter account, you can link the content on our web pages to your Twitter profile. This enables Twitter to assign the visit to our web pages to your user account. We make note that in our capacity as the provider of said web pages we receive no knowledge regarding the content of the data transmitted, nor of the use thereof by Twítter. You can find more information about this in the Privacy Policy at Twitter.

If you do not want Twitter to be able to map the visit to our web pages, then please log out from your Twitter user account before you visit our website.

8) Security

We make use of appropriate technical and organisational security measures in order to protect your data against accidental or deliberate manipulation, the loss thereof in whole or in part, the destruction thereof or against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are improved in alignment with technological advancement on a continuous basis.

9) Disclosure, amendment, correction and deletion of data

You are entitled to the right of disclosure pertaining to the personal data being stored about you and the right to amendment and correction of incorrect data, as well as the blocking and deletion thereof.

To obtain disclosure regarding your personal data, to instigate a correction of incorrect data or the blocking and/or deletion thereof, and for questions requiring greater detail concerning the use of your personal data, please contact:
